Dan Stringer MDiv
Dan Stringer serves full-time with InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries (GFM) and is associate staff with the Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) at the University of Southern California’s Health Sciences Campus. Prior to that, he was an associate pastor for two years and practiced social work for 8 years addressing urban poverty and homelessness.
Dan is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), the University of Hawai’i (Master of Social Work), and Wheaton College. Dan was born in Honolulu to a Chinese American mother and an Anglo American father. He grew up in the Congo, Nepal and the Philippines due to his parents' work as medical missionaries.
Dan and Rebecca have been married since 2003 and have 3 children, the second of whom died in 2010 at the age of 18 months following a 6-month battle with liver cancer. Dan’s writing about this experience has been published in Inheritance magazine (“Silence as Loud as Speech,” 2016) and an essay in the book, Father Factor (White Cloud Press, 2014).
