This statistic above from the 2016 Survey of America’s Physicians: Practice Patterns and Perspectives is certainly not shocking. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all experienced periods of dissatisfaction or burnout or disillusionment with healthcare at least once in our careers. If we’re being honest, we’ve probably endured it more than once.
Healthcare is a tough business. But for most of us, it’s not a business; it’s our calling. God gave us a burning desire to serve others and share His love through our practices. For those of us who know Christ, who know the personal touch of His compassion, we have a Savior who sustains us, who fills us with joy, who gives us the strength and resources we need to persevere in our calling to serve through healthcare.
One way God accomplishes this is through the ministries of Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA). We exist to encourage you, to motivate you, to educate you, to provide resources for you, to walk alongside you day after day to help you serve as witnesses of Christ’s love to your patients. We stand together, united in our shared calling and united in our vision to transform the world for Christ.
When you join CMDA and stand together with us, you help us in:
- Mentoring the next generation of Christian healthcare professionals.
- Supporting nearly 1,000 colleagues serving in long-term missions around the world.
- Being a biblically sound, medically reliable voice to our government and culture.
- And much, much more.
